Description
At Little Swimmers we feel that the sport of Water Polo is a natural and fun extension of swimming! Playing water polo allows your swimmer to combine the technique and speed from solo swim team racing with the complexity of playing a team sport in the water. In most cases the core techniques used in water polo even enables a synergy effect to enhance speed and strength in swimming, bridging both sports. Water polo is a great next step for your more advanced swimmers to continue exploring water sports!
With the opening of our new in-ground multi-sport pool in Concord we are excited to add water polo sessions to our roster.
Who is this class for:
- Comfortably tread water for 30–60 seconds
- Swim 25 yards (any stroke) without stopping
- Confident eggbeater for short bursts
- Can transition from deep to shallow without fear
Players should be confident in mid-depth or deep water and able to follow structured team instructions
What to expect:
- 10 minute warm up, 20-30 minute skill work, 20-30 minute play/scrimmage
- Learn basic rules and skills of water polo
- Gain confidence in the water and improve swimming skills
- Learn to tread water, swim/pass/shoot the ball
- Learn about team work and communication
